Japanese, Russian, German, or Spanish processing, translations are prepared in-house under
conditions of 24- or 48-hour turnaround (based on length and complexity of the material).
This time may be even reduced for shorter orders. Rush charges may, of course, apply in
urgent cases requiring the strenuous exertions of multiple staff members. Rush orders may
be transmitted to client 24 by facsimile machine 22, modem, Federal Express, e-mail or
other appropriate form of delivery.
When Patent Translation & Consulting Company, Inc.
receives additional requests for copies of its translations on disks, legal certification
of documents, and legible copies of needed originals (when such legible copies are missing
from your files, which is especially common in the case of Japanese documents), it
provides the above materials for an insignificant additional charge
Thus it has been shown that our company provides a broad range of
multi-lingual support functions facilitating the activities of patent professionals. It is
understood that our services are not limited to the list given above and any other
modifications and expansions are possible without departure from the spirit of the claims
given below.
CLAIMS
What we claim is:
1. A system for providing
clients with translations of foreign-language patents and patent-related materials
comprising a staff of expert translators proficient in patent standards and technical
questions, and thus capable of preparing certifiable translations to exacting professional
standards, on time and according to the desired format.
2. The system of Claim 1 wherein said translators are former or present
foreign patent agents or patent searchers.
3. The system of Claim 2 wherein said translators have advanced
technical and legal education enabling them accurately to visualize and thoroughly to
comprehend the material submitted to them.
4. The system of Claim 3 wherein said translators are able to read
patent drawings.
5. The system of Claim 1 which is able to prepare patent translations
for your foreign clients in a format suitable for filing with the United States Patent and
Trademark Office. |

method of providing clients with translations of patents and patent-related literature
executed to the highest standards, comprising the steps of:
obtaining a foreign patent reference, patent application, or similar
patent-related original from a client;
analyzing the original with reference to its form, complexity, urgency, and
subject matter;
assigning said patent-related original to a translator with expertise in the
appropriate field of specialization, for the purpose of obtaining a translation;
checking said translation against said original and eliminating flaws, if
any;
delivering said translation to said client within the turnaround time
requested by said client via communication means selected by said client;
maintaining a file of said translation for said client for updating/editing,
as needed; and
obtaining payment for services from said satisfied client within thirty days
following delivery.
